Last Minute Halloween Ideas for You!

Halloween is LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY PEOPLE, and some of you still don’t have your costumes. Not to fear, because I have provided you with niche yet simple costume ideas with LINKS. Because if I see one more Lorax while I’m out trick or treating, I’m going to scream.
First up, we have the stuffed animal currently sitting on the bed of practically every teenage girl in America: the Jellycat. To dress up as the signature Bashful Bunny, all you need is a pair of cozy PJs, slippers, and matching bunny ears. Print out the Jellycat tag, and you’re in the comfiest costume on your street.

Now onto the cutest couples costume you will ever see, based off the adorable kids book from 2008: Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy. For Ladybug, any combination of a polka dot top and skirt will do, along with a pair of wings and antenna! (Bonus points for her signature polka dot boots). All Bumblebee Boy needs is a striped yellow shirt, jeans, antenna, and sneakers. Anyone who read this book as a kid will be buzzing about your costume (get it, buzzing? Like a bee? Ok nevermind.)

Keeping with the theme of childhood nostalgia, Angelina Ballerina is an iconic costume. And she has friends! Grab a leotard, ballet skirt, flats, leg warmers, and some accessories of your choice, and you can be these prima ballerinas!

Another adorable duo is Max and Ruby from the hit kids TV show! These bunnies are siblings, and wear some of the sweetest outfits ever. To dress as Max, get some overalls and a red and yellow striped shirt. For Ruby, grab a yellow romper style dress and purple puff shirt. Pair with some bunny ears, and your look is complete!

I’m not sure if you guys have noticed, but our uniforms are almost IDENTICAL to the ones the Chilton students wear in Gilmore Girls! Add a sweater, knee high socks, tie, and headband to your skirt and you’re suddenly the most educated divas in Hartford Connecticut.

Boys, do NOT think I forgot about your costumes! I need to see AT LEAST five Troy Boltons on my street this Saturday. Grab any red or white tracksuit and a pair of sneakers, swoosh your hair to the front, and you can transform into the coolest athlete/singer of 2006. If you need to carry around a basketball all night to complete the outfit, who am I to stop you?

Gertie Taylor said it best, “What are you going as for Halloween?” Snag some overalls and a red and brown striped shirt to be this mischievous preschooler. To be her brother Elliot, simply grab a red hoodie and jeans!

“But Reagan, I’m in a group of boys and girls who want to do a group costume that is seasonally appropriate but also simple and niche!” Don’t you worry, I have just the costume: THE CHARLIE BROWN KIDS. Any combination of a character’s iconic color pallet, paired with their classic saddle shoes will make you instantly recognizable.

Now onto the coolest siblings of PBS Kids: The Kratt Brothers. To dress as Martin and Chris, all you need is a cargo skirt (or shorts for guys), leather gloves, a long sleeve shirt, and a DIY vest with their paw-print logo.

Finally, this year has been defined by whimsy, so why not look to the whimsy queen herself for our costume inspo: Fancy Nancy. Nancy has no shortage of outfits to choose from in each of her books, so scour your closet for any and all polka dots, stripes, and plaid.
